On cheesy songs, mom's day and apprenticeship activities

March 8, 2006
“I wanna believe its love, this time…
I wanna believe my heart’s not telling me a lie…”
It’s 9:00 in the morning and the lawyer in the cubicle adjacent to mine is starting her day/week with some cheesy love songs. Ugh! I guess the absence of my lawyer-mentor made me more observant of what’s happening around me. Too bad… ha,ha…

I received a txt from my st. jo classmate, Hanna. Since our reunion, all we ever talk about is law, law school and legal profession. Sounds nerdy? Of course not! That’s just logical considering that we’re both into it. She’s now an incoming junior at Ateneo. We sometimes compare notes and give suggestions on what book to use in a particular subject. Well, she’s asking me if she can borrow some books ‘coz she’s planning to review this summer. What the***?! Ha,ha… I’m so proud of this girl. I hope I have at least half of her determination and perseverance (and moolah, if I may add.. he,he). Tsk, tsk…

I just had my lunch. Seph and Andy did not let me hear the end of it when I freaked out after I saw the beetle crawling in the wall. I mean, who wouldn’t?! It is humongous! What I don’t understand is that they acted really cool about the insect. It’s like the idea of playing with a bug is normal. Totally weird and gross. Ugh!

As of 2:30 pm, tomorrow’s dinner date attendees are as follows:
Seph
Moi
Eric
Andy
Joy
Reig

I’m browsing my RPC. I know… pretty geeky, but what can I do? Atty. Golez is out and our AO told me to chill. I hate slacking off so I’d rather be geeky than become unproductive :)
* Our dinner at Dampa was ok.

We watched the Ombudsman Songwriting Competition last Friday at the AFP Theater. It was a very good experience. I expected a boring night but it turned out ok. Actually, it was way cooler that I thought. It may sound cheesy but hearing those new compositions made me more passionate in what I’m doing. The song “I am a shield” hit me bigtime.
It is true that as the world moves forward with science and technology, the values of our officials are slowly taking the backseat. It pains me to realize things that are so apparent yet apathy prevails because of the wrong notion that nothing can be done to change the wrong practice.

I had a great weekend. I spent most of it with my family. While everybody’s sleeping and enjoying the weather, we’ve decided to go to galleria to do some serious shopping. I’ve discovered a great place to shop for some suits. Yay!
Mom’s day was the best! We went to mass pretty early. I also cooked a special lunch for my family. We had dinner at Kimchi House (Our 2nd choice coz Oyster Boy was packed). My sis and I enjoyed the food specially the Korean Beef Stew and Sukiyaki. Mom hated everything. She said everything tasted weird. Oh well…

I spent the night hitting some shuttle cocks with some OMB peeps (Atty. Meynard, Xandrick, Seph, the son of AO, Ate and Kuya…hehe). Atty. Meynard suggested the place, Don Antonio Sports Center. They are really pros! They are professional badminton trainers and they really compete.Well, they served as my pseudo-trainor. Joy, Eric and Andy were also present. We had dinner in a Chinese deli. The food was ok (I guess…) We’re planning to try wall climbing on Monday.

Lawyers here are pampering us.
Majority of them went on a vacation (SEA tour) and they arrived with lots of pasalubongs (candies, chocolates, accessories and trinkets). Snaps for Atty. Serafin and Atty. Fortuna :)
